Dentures / Partial Dentures
When you mention the term ‘dentures’, some people instantly think of grandma’s false teeth sitting in a glass of water by her bed. But the story isn’t that simple.
Dentures are removable prosthetic devices made of acrylic or metal (or both) that replace teeth – and you would be surprised how many younger people are walking around with dentures.
They might replace a single tooth, several teeth or all teeth in the upper or lower jaw. And while many older people do have dentures, lots of younger people have dentures too. They may have lost an adult tooth or teeth playing sport, in a car or bike accident or due to another medical condition.
Unlike Dental Implants, dentures are removable. They use simulated teeth fixed to an acrylic plate which is moulded to the shape of your mouth. This means they can easily be cleaned, modified or replaced.
